Position Description We are seeking a passionate, friendly and knowledgeableindividual to join our team as a Handcart's Garden Center Employee. Thisposition offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment,assisting customers with their gardening needs and contributing to the overallsuccess of our exclusive garden center.
Responsibilities:
1. Customer Assistance: Provide exceptional customer serviceby assisting customers with inquiries, product selection, and gardening advice.
2. Product Knowledge: Maintain a thorough understanding ofall products available in the garden center, including plants, tools, soil,fertilizers, and outdoor décor.
3. Merchandising: Ensure that products are well-organized,properly labeled, and visually appealing to customers. Restock shelves anddisplays as needed.
4. Plant Care: Assist with the care and maintenance ofplants, including watering, pruning, and pest control.
5. Cashier Duties: Operate cash registers and processtransactions accurately and efficiently.
6. General Maintenance: Keep the garden center clean andorderly, including sweeping, dusting, and organizing inventory.
7. Inventory Management: Assist with inventory counts,receiving shipments, and maintaining appropriate stock levels.
8. Promotions and Events: Participate in promotional eventsand workshops to educate customers and promote sales.
9. Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety guidelines andprocedures to ensure a safe working environment for both employees andcustomers.
10. Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with teammembers to achieve sales targets and maintain high standards of customerservice.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in retail, customer service, orgardening is preferred but not required.
- Passion for gardening and a desire to learn about plantsand gardening techniques.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to interactpositively with customers and team members.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environmentand handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Flexibility to work Saturdays and holidays as needed.
- Physical stamina to lift and carry heavy objects and workoutdoors in various weather conditions.
